FORKED TONGUES - Story Telling Training

LOST IN BOOKS, with TAFE Ultimo, is excited to offer women with a language other than English a FREE training course called FORKED TONGUES Story Telling Training. This course is aimed at recently arrived women and they will be given priority.

Over 12 weeks, you will grow in skills and confidence to read, and tell stories for children in your first language and in English.

If you complete the course satisfactorily, you will receive a Statement of Attainment in Vocational and Community Engagement 10581 NAT – Career Pathways & Employability Skills (RTO Code 9003).

Be supported by LOST IN BOOKS and the FORKED TONGUES Story Telling Collective to:

  • use your first language to share stories and culture

  • gain a free qualification

  • gain new skills to earn extra income as a storyteller at schools, libraries, LOST IN BOOKS and at community services

  • learn about early childhood literacy, reading for children, public speaking and communication.

PLACES ARE LIMITED. MORNING TEA WILL BE PROVIDED.

LOST IN BOOKS CAN ARRANGE A POOLED CHILDCARE ARRANGEMENT IF NEEDED AT $5/CHILD EACH SESSION.

Course dates: Wednesdays, 10am - 1pm from 22 August - 26 September 2018. Two week break  3- 10 October 2018. Course resumes 17 October - 28 November.
